Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This policy explains how BridgeCrew Technologies Inc. ("BridgeCrew", "we") collects, uses, and protects personal information, in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and other applicable privacy laws.
2. What we collect
- Contact and account information โ name, company, email, phone, region, and trade when you submit a form or create an account.
- Credential and compliance information (members) โ business licences, trade certifications, insurance certificates, workers' compensation status, and references, used for vetting and verification.
- Platform activity โ placements, tenders, reviews, and messages, which are retained as a record of network transactions.
- Device preferences โ a theme setting stored locally on your device. The prototype site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
3. Why we collect it (purposes)
- To respond to placement requests and membership applications.
- To verify member credentials and retrieve compliance documents (e.g., workers' compensation clearance letters) that members ask us to obtain.
- To operate matching, reviews, messaging, and billing.
- With your separate, optional consent โ to send marketing about BridgeCrew services (see Section 5).
We collect only what is needed for these purposes and do not sell personal information.
4. Consent
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent, or as permitted or required by law. You may withdraw consent at any time (subject to legal or contractual restrictions) by contacting us; withdrawing consent may limit the services we can provide.
5. Email and marketing (CASL)
Transactional emails (e.g., responses to your request, vetting status, billing) are sent as part of the service. Marketing emails are sent only with express opt-in consent, in compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL); every marketing email identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe that we honour promptly.
6. Sharing
- Within the network โ verified credentials, ratings, and profile details are shared with members as the core function of the service.
- Verification sources โ we contact issuing bodies (e.g., workers' compensation boards, licensing authorities, insurers) to verify documents you provide for vetting.
- Service providers โ hosting, database, payment (e.g., Stripe), and email providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. Some providers store data outside Canada (e.g., the United States); where they do, it is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
- Legal โ where required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
7. Retention and safeguards
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law (e.g., financial records), then securely delete or anonymize it. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit.
8. Your rights
You may request access to your personal information, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, or ask what we hold and how it has been used or disclosed. We respond within the timelines required by law. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the BC Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
9. Children
